This final report presents the RIDA project on a sustainable phase-change-material refrigerator designed for weak-grid, off-grid and off-peak power contexts. The project addresses disparities in rural electrification and the limitations of conventional refrigeration, proposing the SustFridge system as an energy-efficient approach to improve access to reliable refrigeration in underserved areas. The report covers the problem statement, technical feasibility and optimisation, economic analysis, scalability, environmental adaptability and links to sustainable development objectives.
