This final report presents the Micro-Mobility Hub Pilot in Cape Town, a practical test of dedicated spaces for app-based delivery riders. Led by Local South with the University of Cape Town and the Langa Bicycle Hub, with FCDO support, the pilot established three hubs offering seating, shade, water, Wi-Fi, phone charging, parking, toilet access where possible, and on-site support. Drawing on rider surveys, structured observations and operational learning, the report examines rider working conditions, hub usage, public-space impacts and governance challenges, and identifies lessons for future micro-mobility infrastructure, partnerships and city planning.
