This study investigates pigmented rice landraces from the ASEAN region, with a focus on varieties from Thailand and Indonesia. The scope includes assembling complete genomes using long-read sequencing, developing molecular markers for genome-assisted selection, and conducting comprehensive metabolic and agronomic characterisations. This research aims to establish a foundation for enhancing the agronomic performance and nutritional qualities of these traditional varieties to support breeding programmes across Southeast Asia.
